Easy-going Scotsman, keen musician, rock climber and Border Collie whisperer.

I’m here for the real stuff. The connection, the quiet, the wild and all the in-betweens that make your wedding yours.

From windswept Scottish hillsides to French château parties, I want you to feel free to be yourselves, dive in and soak it all up.

My approach is relaxed, observant, collaborative, creative and rooted in storytelling. Before finding my way into weddings and elopements I spent three years studying analogue photography and film in Edinburgh, then I started out professional life as an editorial photographer and photojournalist. Those early years and assignments taught me to work intuitively, connect with people, read a situation and find the story as it unfolds. It’s a way of working I still bring to every wedding today.

With a love for fine art, cinematography and the natural world, I’m endlessly fascinated by light, particularly the way the master painters and cinematographers use it to create mood, depth and a little bit of magic. It’s an influence that still runs through my work, alongside a love of honest exchanges, interesting locations, real moments, dance-floor shapes and the wonderfully human chaos in between.

More than 15 years on, I’m still just as psyched to work with couples who want something personal, meaningful and a little bit less obvious.

No Pinterest copy-and-paste editorial trends or awkward formulas. Just good humour, a curious eye and a chilled approach, with your connection, your quirks and all the little things that make the day uniquely yours at the heart of it.
