Intimate Elopement in The Scottish Highlands
ELOPEMENT IN THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS
Isaac + Jess are original New Zealand Kiwi’s but now living full time in England. They were keen to elope to Scotland so flew North to marry in an intimate Scottish Elopement ceremony on the banks of Loch Chon.
The Sun was beating down as they exchanged their vows and a few tears of joy were noted during this emotional ceremony.
The beautiful woodland next to the Loch swayed gently in the breeze and the Sun cast some nice dappled light over the happy couple too. There were even some brave swimmers out in the Loch, catching their first dip of the Summer.
My partner Justyna and I were legal witnesses to the elopement and it’s a really sweet thing to be asked to do this for couples, it makes us feel even more a part of their day.
After the ceremony we took some time out to explore the surroundings before heading back to the Air B n B for a spot of lunch. Our talented videographer friends CinemateFilms were there shooting the movie so it was a good chance to share ideas with them for the evening shoot.
Hike To Ben A’an
We then waited an hour until the light began to soften and all took a hike to the summit of Ben A’an in the stunning Loch Lomond and Trossachs National park to watch the Sunset over Loch Katrine and the Moon rise in the East.
It was one of the most amazing sunsets and what an end to the day, after we had taken a few shots and Greg from Love Lock had flown the drone to capture some epic footage we held back. We let Isaac and Jess have a few moments together and it was so cool to watch them stood on the summit of this beauty of a Scottish mountain. They took in the views along with a Champagne in hand and some freshly cut wedding cake. It was an honour to be their elopement photographer and to work alongside the talented Cinemate Films and my wonderful second shooter Justyna.
