Intimate Scotland Elopement on the West Coast
Tom and Lorna eloped to Scotland during a fine spell in the Autumn. They headed North from their home in England and landed at the wonderfully situated Glenapp Castle on the rugged Ayrshire coast, overlooking the Firth of Clyde, the volcanic island Ailsa Craig and out over to Isle of Arran.
They were joined by five of their closest friends who had travelled from all over the UK.
It was a sweet and intimate day in a most beautiful area, the Sun shining and a ton of laughter from everyone.
The morning was spent clicking the preparations and gazing out of the windows across the sea whilst getting to know Tom and Lorna a little more.
Both creatives, Tom a musician and Lorna a nature photographer, so it was really cool to hear more about their background and inspirations as they got themselves ready for the ceremony.
Ayrshire is an area I haven’t been to an awful lot over the years.
I guess this is why I absolutely love shooting elopements in Scotland. as much as Ive travelled around my home country Im still discovering real gems and it’s definitely on the list to come back and explore some more of its coastline.
The ceremony was gentle, poignant and the joy was palpable, I think after this last year everyone needed some solid happy feels!
After a few glasses of champagne, we wandered the magical woodland and walled garden at Glenapp before taking off to the coast. On the drive in I had spotted some cool looking boulders on the beach a few minutes drive away and was keen to check them out, so with Tom and Lorna up for a wee adventure, we took in the last of the light on the shore, running and dancing, tracking the Geese and watching the waves tumble onto the shore…
