Autumn Elopement in Edinburgh

Callum + Tess’ Scottish elopement.

These two sweethearts flew in from Canada and found a beautiful Autumn day waiting for them in Edinburgh.

Callum’s Dad is originally from the Isle of Skye so there was a strong Scottish connection. I spotted the odd flash of tartan within the wedding party and guests as a little nod to this fact.

They married at the small but historic chapel at Edinburgh Castle surrounded by family and friends. It really was an intimate and emotional elopement ceremony.

Morning preparations

We started off in the city’s East End for both Bride and Groom and Wedding Party preparations. Everyone was in high spirits, laughing and joking and enjoying some Scottish food and drinks.

When the wedding party was all prepped, we jumped into a beautiful classic car and rolled the streets of the capital and onwards to Princes Street.

There was a large demonstration blocking this main street which looked to cause us some issue. Our driver however, managed somehow to find a police escort for the bridal car all the way to the Castle. This had us arriving in style, very regal!

Ceremony

The wedding ceremony at Edinburgh Castle was intimate, with a few family members and friends packed into the chapel.

Afterwards we spent the afternoon running around the old town of Edinburgh and the surrounding hills ofArthurs Seat. We wandered on the crags, shooting into the late afternoon with some stunning light illuminating the landscape.

When the Sun finally dipped below the horizon, the newlywed headed back into town to party into the wee small hours.

All in all, a sweet Autumn elopement in Edinburgh. The light alone is one good reason to elope to Scotland during these ‘fall’ months.

Hope you enjoy these images from this wonderful Scottish Elopement
